The World University Orienteering Championships schedule is a full one! Yesterday was the middle distance. Robbie Graham was the top male in 70th. Today was the sprint event. Adam Woods was the top male in 74th. Emma Waddington had another superb sprint race and finished in 8th, 32 seconds back from the leader. Congrats! Way to go Canada! Tomorrow is the long distance. First start is at 9:30 local time (2:30am EDT, 11:30pm today PDT). Emma Waddington, Pia Blake, Adam Woods, Robbie Graham, Michael Kondro and Tomas Graham are racing. Go Canada! The Canadian team came in 18th today at the sprint relay. Emma Waddington had a particularly speedy first leg, coming in 5th on her leg! The Junior World Orienteering Championships wrapped up on the weekend with the relay. Results at: http://jwoc2018.hu/. Fortunately, the next championship event is starting tomorrow, so we can keep on cheering for Team Canada! Team member Pia Blake has written an introductory blog post to the World University Orienteering Championships in Finland on the team blog: https://teamcanadaorienteering.blogspot.com/ The sprint relay kicks off the event tomorrow at 16:00 local time, 6:00 PDT or 9:00 EDT.
